What to expect from a counselling session?

Counselling may vary depending on your needs and what type of therapy is most suitable.  Counselling can be short term, over weeks or months or slightly longer term, depending on individual need.

At your first appointment, your therapist may talk to you about how they conduct their sessions and what you might expect from them. Your therapist will always display active listening and empathy and provide a non-judgemental space throughout your sessions.

At certain times, you may explore and discuss painful or uncomfortable topics during your sessions. Your therapist is a trained professional who will support you through this process and provide a safe and confidential space for you.
